Meet Meredith Price, the winner of the 2025 Mass Beer Week Art Contest
Mass Beer Week returns March 1–8 with a fresh look for 2025, thanks to Meredith Price, the talented digital illustrator and winner of this year’s Mass Beer Week Art Contest.
Cambridge resident, Meredith Price - a dancer, designer and illustrator who is the winner of this year’s Mass Beer Week art contest.
Price, a Marlborough, MA native, is also a dancer and designer, whose journey into the beer world began at her hometown spot: Lost Shoe Brewing and Roasting Co.
“When I saw they were hiring, I thought, why not?” Price recalls. When she wasn’t pouring beers and chatting with patrons, she found creative ways to contribute beyond the bar. Bartenders often made labels for the taps during downtime, and Price’s artistic skills quickly set her apart. “Being a designer and an artist-illustrator, that just kind of ended up being my job for a while,” she explained.
Her talent didn’t go unnoticed. JP Gallagher, co-owner of Lost Shoe Brewing & Roasting Co., asked Price to design a beer can label for their Doppelbock. She even had the chance to name it: Doppelsock. “That was really fun, Price says, “it was a very simple design, but it was fun because I've always wanted to do that, and since then, I've done fifteen plus labels.”
Price’s first brush with Mass Beer Week came while working at Lost Shoe. “I remember seeing the glassware designs and thinking, ‘That’s so cool. I’d love to create something like that.’” In 2022, she took the leap, submitting a design for the 2023 Mass Beer Week competition. While her entry became a finalist, it didn’t win—but the experience left a lasting impression.
By 2025, Price had moved to Cambridge, drawn by the city’s vibrant dance scene and her new role at a Boston digital marketing agency. Revisiting her original design with more than two years of experience, she updated it and applied again. This time, her efforts paid off.
“It was cool to see the design two years later,” she says. “Being two years older and more experienced, I thought, ‘Oh, I would have done that differently.”
The updated design, now featured on glasses and t-shirts for Mass Beer Week, celebrates the diversity of Massachusetts beer culture. Price’s artwork showcases an array of unique beer glasses, each representing different styles of brews across the state. “Beer and the brewing industry are everywhere, and they really bring people together,” Price explains. The beer glasses appear to slosh with liquid, a detail Price credits to her background in dance. “In most of my work, I’m always thinking, ‘How can I create motion here?’ even if it’s a static thing.”
From Marlborough to Cambridge, this designer’s path is as varied as the beer styles she celebrates, blending a love for design, community, and creativity to make her mark on Massachusetts beer culture.
Price’s work will be available for purchase from participating member breweries in the form of t-shirts and beer glasses.
